Marie Bassett, 99, maker owner
NORTH ATTLEBORO ? Marie A. Bassett, 99, a retired bakery owner, died Sunday in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wrentham. She was the widow of Christopher Bassett Sr.
Born in Canada on July 1, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Elmina (Parent) Gagnon. She was a lifelong North Attleboro resident.
Mrs. Bassett was the owner and treasurer of the Bassett Bakery for over 25 years.
She had enjoyed gardening and embroidering.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Ellis of Plainville and Patricia Precourt of South Yarmouth; a son, Donald Bassett of North Attleboro; a stepson, Christopher Bassett Jr. in Alabama; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Sperry& McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St.
