Christopher Bassett
Christopher "Rae" Bassett, 90, of 123 Sumner St., owner of Bassett's Bakery until retiring in 1975, died Friday at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Marie-Ann (Gagnon) Bassett.
Born in Harwich, a son of the late Hebert and Lettie (Eldridge) Bassett, he lived in North Attleboro most of his life.
Mr. Bassett was an Army veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Christopher Rae Bassett Jr. of Mobile, Ala., and Donald Bassett of North Attleboro; two daughters, Charlotte Ellis of Plainville and Patricia Precourt of North Attleboro; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery, Plainville.
