Bessette, 71, of 40 Leander St., a bartender at the One More Club until retiring in 1980, and a former milk truck driver for Crandall's Dairy, Cranston, died Wednesday at Roger Williams General Hospital. He was the husband of Erna G. (Ormsbee) Bessette. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rose (Imbeault) Bessette. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Michael Bessette of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Cynthia Patton of Woonsocket, Lynda Bessette of Boston and Michelle Bessette of Providence; two brothers, Joseph Bessette of Providence, Arthur Bessette of Woodland Hills, Calif., and four grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 1040 Atwells Ave. Cremation will be at Swan Point Crematory.
