Gloria Martin (1930 ? 2014)
Gloria Martin, 83, of Spring Hill, Fla., born Nov. 14, 1930, in Hyannis, Mass., passed away June 5, 2014, at the Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, Fla., following a long and courageous battle with a number of medical problems.
Mrs. Martin was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend to so many. She was noted for her unselfishness and willingness to give of herself without asking anything in return. We will also remember her love and passion for life, travel and friends as well as her unshakable effort to rise above the pain that she carried.
Gloria was past worthy matron of Collinsville Chapter 666, Collinsville, Ill., and a teacher of the work as a grand lecturer. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile and VFW 5691 Auxiliary in Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred W. and Virginia, nee Bassett, Cash; and two brothers, Don and Theodore Cash.
Surviving are her loving husband, Richard A. Martin Sr., whom she married on Dec. 24, 1950, in Hyannis, Mass.; two sons, Richard Martin Jr., of Highland, Ill., and Bruce D. Martin of Collinsville, Ill.; her sister, Barbara, nee Cash, Jones of Leland, N.C.; granddaughter, Nikole P. (Martin) Lawson of Collinsville, Ill., and grandson, Jeremey P. Martin of Maryville, Ill.
Funeral: Cremation services will be accorded and internment will be at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo., at a later date.
