Edna Mae Mattson
MATTSON, EDNA MAE Of Grand Blanc, age 96, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Michael Perez and Dr. James Tuttle officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 4 p.m. 8 p.m. Sunday and 12 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Tunnel to Towers, Calvary United Methodist Church, Flint or Halsey United Methodist Church in Grand Blanc. Edna was born in Ironwood, Michigan on May 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Truscott) Bassett. On June 21, 1947 she married Wilfred Mattson in Ironwood, Michigan and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church for over 60 years and taught Sunday School there. Edna also belonged to the Priscilla Circle. In her later years she attended Halsey United Methodist Church. Edna had a big heart and often visited the sick and shut-ins at church and would send cards to them. Edna loved being with family; above all else she loved the Lord. Surviving are daughter, Linda (Randy) Kilgore; grandchildren, Mark (Mary) and Rebecca; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
