Bessette, 75, died on February 21, 2017, with two of his sisters, Pat and Gail, by his side. He was a 35 year member of the Carpenters-Joiners Union #370. He liked motorcycle riding, fishing and bowling. The funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Troy where the parish Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Jean's Cemetery, Troy, with military honors. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
