Normand E. Bessette Jr.
NORMAND E. BESSETTE JR., 47, of Coyle Avenue, a framer and carpenter, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
He was the former husband of Joyce M. (Turofski) Bessette of Attleboro. Born in Providence, a son of Normand E. Bessette Sr. of Seekonk and Dorothy (Robarge) Bessette of Pawtucket, and the stepson of Susann (Butler) Bessette of Seekonk, he lived in Pawtucket most of his life.
A framer and carpenter most of his life, he was formerly employed at the turnkey post office branch in Providence. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his parents, stepmother and former wife, he leaves a son, Shane N. Bessette of Attleboro; two brothers, Stephen N. Bessette of Uxbridge, Mass., and Sean M. Bessette of Seekonk; a sister, Danielle B. Lamanuzzi of Seekonk; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Benjamin D. Bessette.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Church of St. Leo the Great, Central Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
