Clayton Bassett Dies Suddenly
Mr. Clayton Leo Bassett, 60 years old, of Brandenburg, died Dec. 28, 1959, while being taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 12, 1899, in Meade County, a son of Mr. Noah Bassett and Fannie Logsdon Bassett.
Mr. Bassett had been a a mail carrier on Brandenburg Star Route for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Barley Bassett; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Foushee, of Louisville, one son, Clayton Bassett, Jr. of Payneville, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Captola Berryman of Payneville.
Funeral services Thursday, (today) Dec. 31, 9 a.m. at St .Mary Magdalen Church, Payneville, conducted by Fr. Lambert Stack. Burial in New Highland cemetery, directed by Wright Funeral Home.
