- Mrs. Bassett, 59, Dies Two Days After Husband
NEW LYME, March 3 ? Just two days after the death of her husband, Mrs. Elta Flora Bassett, 59, died at her home at 6 a.m. today after a lingering illness. Her husband, Neil D. Bassett, 58, died of a heart attack Sunday.
Funeral services for Mr. Bassett, which were to have been today, will be combined with services for his wife Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. A.H. O?Brien, Kingsville, former supply minister at the Dodgeville Baptist Church, will officiate at rites at the Utterback Funeral Home in Jefferson. Burial will be in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
Mrs. Bassett, the former Elta Loveland, was born in Cherry Valley. Her survivors include five children: Mrs. Albert Meade, Jefferson; Garland Bassett, Warren; Harland Bassett, New Lyme; Raymond Clark, Cherry Valley; and Kenneth Clark, Warren; and an uncle, Jay Hatch, Cherry Valley.

Double funeral services were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon
for Mr. and Mrs. Neil D. Bassett of New Lyme. Last rites were conducted from
the C.D. Utterback Funeral Home here with burial in Cherry Valle
Just two days after the death of her husband, Mrs. Alta Flora Bassett,
59, died at her home in New Lyme Tuesday morning following a lingering
illness. Mr. Bassett died Sunday from a heart attack.
Rev. A.H. O'Brien, Kingsville, former supply pastor at the Dodgeville
Baptist church, officiated at the services.
