Richard was born June 1, 1945, in Brisbane, Australia, a son to Leo B. and Phyllis Bassett. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the Lyons American Legion and the Wolcott VFW. He was predeceased by his father. Survived by his mother, Phyllis of Lyons and sister, Lorraine Bassett of Tupper Lake. Arrangements are by Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, Lyons.
