Bassett, James Benton Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather was born August 2, 1920 in Forest, Mississippi. He passed away March 17, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Mississippi College, a flight instructor and veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; sons, Jamie Bassett and wife Doris, Bobby Bassett, and daughter, Betty Conley; grandsons, Tony Johnson and wife Vickie, and Beau Bassett; granddaughter, Kristin Bassett, and brother Charles Bassett. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2007 at Sparkman Funeral Home in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Lake Highlands Baptist Church, 642 Brookhurst, Dallas, with Reverend Mark Farish officiating.
