Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Gant, officiating. Burial will follow in Garner Chapel C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009 at the funeral home and 7:30 p.m. at 3653 Stratford Dr., according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel. Mr. Bass was born May 4, 1942 in Russell County, AL son of the late Maxine and Charlie Bass. He retired from Best Built Fence Company and was a member of Garner Chapel AME Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bass of Columbus, GA; a son, Vincent Wilson of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Meredith Veasley (Curtis), Katina Bass-Jackson, Lynchie Carr, and Diane Hensley, all of Columbus, GA; brothers, Charlie Frank Bass (Mable), Robert Bass (Bernice), James Bass (Lois), all of Columbus, GA, the Rev. R. B. Bass (Antoinette) of Thomaston, GA; sisters, Diane Washington (Bennie) of Phenix City, AL and Elaine White (Robert) of Los Angeles, CA; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
