Mr. Willie H. Bass, Jr. of Decatur, Georgia passed January 27, 2019. Mr. Bass, a son of the late Willie Bass and Gussie B. Davis Bass was born November 3, 1929 in Upatoi, Muscogee County, Georgia. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1946.
He was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict in February 1951. He served two tours in Korea; 1951/1952 and again in 1965. He then served three tours in Germany; 1953/1956, 1958/1961, and 1968. His last tour was served in Vietnam; 1968/1969. He retired June 1971, after 20 years of military service as Sergeant First Class E7.
He leaves three children to cherish his memory, Cheryl D. Bass, Horace S. Bass & Arthur S. Bass; wife, Francia Bass; grandson, Kristopher Bass; his loving god-children, Travis Holsey & Tyler Holsey; along with his dear friend, Warnell Riley.
A grave site service is scheduled for February 6, 2019 11:00 am at Green Acres Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many comforting expressions of kindness.
