Karen Richards
Karen A. Richards, age 64, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In 1980, Karen Bass married John Richards, and they shared forty-four happy years together. Karen was passionate about genealogy, dedicating countless hours to researching her family's records. A woman of faith, she attended CrossPointe Church and was known for her immense love, especially for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John Richards; her son, John E. Richards, and his wife Jennifer of Van Buren; her daughter, Amanda L. Garcia, and her husband David of Bay City, Texas; her ten beloved grandchildren, Kali and Ryan Wells of Van Buren, John Britton Richards of Ozark, Damien Buccella, Payton Richards, Liberty Richards, MacKenzie Richards all of Van Buren, Cole Young and Rhi of Georgia, Destiny Corujo of Texas, Dalton Childress and Jasmine of Texas and Dylan Childress of Texas; her siblings, James H. Bass and his wife Wanda, and Paula Ellington, all of Van Buren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gwen "Bake" Bass, and her sister, Debra Lynn Ellington. Visitation will be held at CrossPointe Church in Van Buren from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. A memorial service will take place the following morning at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at CrossPointe Church. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
