April 17, 1941 Dr. A. Bassett Wed to Leah Sadowski
A pretty house wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Sadowski, Massey, Ontario when Miss Leah Sadowski became the bride of Dr. Alex A. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bassett, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on April 6th. Rabbi Fishman of Sault Ste. Marie officiated. The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a heaven blue dress with matching hat and corsage of orchids. She was attended by Mrs. H. Hershorn of Toronto, her sister, as matron of honor in powder blue with corsage of roses. Gordon Bassett of Sault Ste. Marie, brother of the groom, attended him. Mrs. Saul Friedman of Sault Ste. Marie played the wedding music.

Leah Bassett, on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Baycrest. Beloved wife of the late Alan Bassett. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Michael and Karen Bassett, and Robert and Lori Bassett. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Deborah (Buddy) Hershoran, Raymond and Myra Sadowski, Marvin and Victoria Sadowski, John Henry and Francis Sadowski, Phyllis Sadowski, Bernard Bassett, and the late Joseph Sadowski, Harry Hershoran, Ruth Sadowski, Lillian Bassett, Gordon and Helen Basest. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer and Michael, Joshua, Jamie, and great-grandmother of Andi, and Hudson. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue W., (three lights west of Dufferin) for service on Tuesday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the Temple Sinai section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Shiva in the Reception Room at 38 William Carson Crescent. Memorial donations may be made to Baycrest Palliative Care Centre 416-785-2875.
