Maurice Bassett
Maurice N. Bassett, 64, of 5018 Jennifer Lane, Bartonville, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Francis Hospital.
He was a painter for Seeley & Son Painting & Decorating Co. 31 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of International Brothers of Painters & Allied Trades and Painter?s Local 157.
Born Dec. 3, 1917, in Peoria, he was a son of Charles A. and Margaret Ramsden Bassett. He married Marie Menssen May 21, 1938, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Marvin N. of Marquette Heights, Terry T. of Mesa, Ariz., Charles L. ?Roy? and John E., both of Bartonville; one daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Margaret) Smithy of Fort Lewis, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. One brother preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilton Mortuary, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
The Rev. Dale L. Wellman will officiate, and entombment will be in Springdale Mausoleum.
