Claire Bassett
Chicopee - Mrs. Claire (Lacroix) Bassett, 83, of 1206 Grattan St., Aldenville, died Tuesday at the Heritage Nursing Home in Agawam. Born in Chicopee, she was educated in Chicopee schools. She resided in Holyoke for many years, before moving to Chicopee 20 years ago. She was formerly a communicant of the Former Perpetual Help Church in Holyoke. She leaves one son, Kenneth Bassett of Holyoke; two daughters, Christine Johnson of Springfield, and Darlene Hosier of Chicopee. She was the widow of Wilson Bassett. Claire was predeceased by three sons, Bruce, David, and Dennis Bassett. She leaves 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The funeral services will be held at the James P. Hobert & Sons Funeral Home, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Aldenville.
