Funeral services for Samuel Bassett, formerly of this place, who died in Marshall, Tex., last Friday, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Methodist church here. The body will arrive here at 5 a.m. Monday. The Reverend Mr. Gleason, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Rockport cemetery. His mother, Mrs. Mary Bassett, a brother, DeWitt, of Allen county, and a brother, Lewis, of Wichita, Kas., survive. Bassett was employed in the Texas oil fields.
