Obituary
Hayden D. Bass was born near Princeton, Ill., May 19th, 1861, and departed this life at his daughter?s near Lenora, Kansas, Feb 15th, 1925 at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 27 days. His parents moved to Madison County Iowa when he was 8 years of age where he lived until he was about 2 years old when he moved to Graham County Kansas where he resided until two and one-half years ago. Not long after coming to Kansas he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Acheson to which union were born four children, three boys and one girl all of which survive him, his wife having departed this life about two and one half years ago, since her departure he lived with his brother, Walter Bass of Hill City about one year and since that time has made his home with his daughter near Lenora, Kansas, until his death. He often spoke of his trust in God and said many times he was ready to go to be with the Lord, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. May Jackson of Lenora, Kansas, there sons, E.O. Bass of Loveland, Colorado, Leland A. and Aurel D. Bass making their home at this time with their sisters, also two sisters and two brothers, Walter Bass of Hill City, Kansas, D.S> Bass of Winterset, Iowa, Mrs. Elsa Acheson of Palco, Kansas, Mrs. Lida Veenstra of Des Moines, Iowa, also other relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
