The Lima news, Tuesday, February 22, 1949 Otis Bassett BEAVERDAM, Feb. 22 – Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Methodist church here for Otis Bassett, 79, of this community. The Rev. L. D. Fauver will officiate and burial will be in Rockport cemeter Mr. Bassett died Monday morning in the home of a sister, Mrs. Ellsworth Gierhart, Beaverdam. He was born Aug. 4, 1869, in Allen co., son of Samuel and Mary Whipp Bassett. Mr. Bassett was a retired harness maker and was employed by Hardesty and Wasson, former funeral directors in Beaverdam. Other survivors include another sister, Mrs. Rossie Buchanan, Springfield, Mo., and a brother, DeWitt Bassett, Venedocia. The body will remain in the Paul Diller funeral home, Bluffton, until services.
