  Notes	The Bellingham Herald, Washington, Friday, 30 January 1998 Helen Ulois Bass Helen Ulois Bass, age 91 of Bellingham, WA, passed away January 28, 1998 at the Bayside Care Center. Mrs. Bass was born Dec 19, 1906 in Tolodo (sic), Illinois to John and Lucy (Nichols) Croy. She moved to Whatcom County and was a member of the Church of Christ many, many years where she enjoyed studying the Bible. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and loved her children and grad kids. She loved people and people loved her in return. She had a very witty sense of humor. Survivors are her three sons, Sonny Bass and his wife Colette, of Everson; Forrest "Bud" Bass and his wife Sandy of Deming; and Edward Bass and his wife Pat of Bellingham; her two daughters, Jewel Vanover and her husband Charles of Illinois and Wanda Fultz of Sumas; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Bass, her son Williams Bass, and her daughter Mary Lucille Sorenson. A Funeral Service, officiated by Preacher Leon Cruse, will be held 1 pm Friday, January 30, 1998 in the Jerns Funeral Chapel followed by burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The arrangements and services are under the direction of Jerns Funeral Chapel.
