Ronald ?Ronnie? Smith Bass
Ronald ?Ronnie? Smith Bass, Sr., passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, in Summerville, South Carolina. He was born on July 25, 1952, in Lumberton, North Carolina, to the late William ?Joe? Bass and Gertrude Bass.
Ronnie was a strong-willed man who lived life on his own terms and was never afraid to share his opinion or a good joke with those around him. Ronnie loved making people laugh and enjoyed teasing his friends and family. Ronnie was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and enjoyed the freedom of being on his motorcycle. He also loved spending time at the farm, hunting, fishing, boating, building model airplanes, and golf. He had a particular loyalty when it came to trucks and would always choose a GMC over a Ford.
Ronnie worked for many years as a longshoreman. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for himself and those he loved.
He is survived by his significant other, Cynthia Kuczkir; his loving children: Britney Wright (Jack) and Ronnie Bass Jr (Kristi); his grandchildren: Tyler Barnhill (Abigail), Holden Bass, Dalton Bass, and Khloe Sarine, Ronnie Bass III, Jeff Bass (Gracie), and Taylor Rogister; his great granddau??ghter, Emma Barnhill; his brother, Billy Bass (Patti), and their children: Aubri, Joseph, Kirsten (Jason), and Phillip. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11am until 1pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. A graveside service will begin at 3:00pm at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 7652 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Andrews, SC 29510.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dorchester Paws.
