H.L. “Roy” Bassett (includes picture with his airplane)

H.L. “Roy” Bassett, longtime resident of Camas, WA, passed away Jan. 21, 2009
at the age of 90. He was born Aug. 26, 1918 in Wilder, ID to Herbert W. and
Cloa (Moore) Bassett. Roy enjoyed flying his own plane and had his own
electrical company, “Bassett Electric”. Roy is survived by his first wife,
June; brother, Walter R. (Vera) Bassett; sister, Rev. Helen Phillips; nieces,
Mary Hannon, Cloa Hede and Sharon Woosley; nephews, Melvin Swikert, Victor
Phillips and Richard Bassett; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Evelyn; and sister, Hazel Swikert.
Special thanks to Georgett’s Elder Care and Van Mail Retirement. A viewing
will be held Mon. Jan. 2009, 12:00-9:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens
with the memorial service on Tues., Jan. 27, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. Please
