In Loving Memory
Hazel Bassett
Hazel Marie (Gandre) Bassett departed this world for a better place September 11, 2021. She was born January 3, 1941, in Gonzales, Texas, to Ruby Irene (Heinemeyer) and Franklin August Gandre. She was married December 10, 1961, in Kyle Texas, to William Carter Bassett. They made it for more than 52 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Karen Eileen Grantham, daughter Leasa Kay Bassett, sister-in-law Sandi Kay Gandre and dear friends, Katherine Cannon, Patty Hastings, Kay Brooks and Pat Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Bren Bassett of Dripping Springs and Romi Bassett of Belton, her grandson Joseph Bassett-Pechacek, her brother Wilfred A. "Boy" Gandre, nephews Johnny P. Grantham Jr., and Roam I. Grantham and his wife, Meredith, along with niece Sandra Kay Wills and her grand nieces and nephews, Karyn Louise Grantham, Lauren Marie Grantham, Roam Jacob Grantham and Cody James Wills, many precious cousins and dear friends Lainey Shepperd and Sybil Floyd.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 19th from 4:00pm ? 6:00pm at Oak Creek Cafe. Dress is casual and, like Mom, informal.
Her last words for family and friends were "Remember me with a grin and see you on the other side."
