Mrs. Mary Bassette
Mrs. Mary Bassette passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred LaBombard, Saturday morning, Oct. 11. Mrs. Bassette had been in poor health for over a year, being confined to her bed for the past few months. Although a long and patient sufferer, the end came peacefully while she was sleeping. She was born Canada, May 2nd, 1850, and had resided in Lebanon for the past 25 years. She was a woman of quiet disposition and those who became acquainted with her found in her always a faithful and beautiful mother and grandmother, and a kind and thoughtful friend. She took great comfort and pleasure in visiting the homes of her children and was a lover of her church, to which she was faithful to the end. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Fred J. LaBombard, and Mrs. Razen Beliveaus of this town, and three sons, George A. Bassett of this town, Henry Bassett of Canada and Clifford E. Bassett of Woodsville, also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Sacred Heart church Monday at 9 a.m. The order of St. Anne, of which she was a member for many years, attended in body. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery.
