Dale Henry Bassett
MOUNT PULASKI, Ill. - Dale Henry Bassett, 91, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of San Jose, Calif., and formerly of Grass Range, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Vonderlieth Living Center, in Mount Pulaski.
Mr. Bassett was born on January 3, 1920, in Grass Range, to Frank Harvey and Elda Lubeke Bassett. He married Bessie Ray on March 26, 1944, at Camp Ruker, Ala. She survives, and is of Mount Pulaski.
Also surviving are two sons, David (Cathy) Bassett of Mount Pulaski and Harley J. (Pamela) Bassett, of Twin Falls, Idaho. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son Robert and one brother Earl.
Mr. Bassett served in the United States Army during WWII in occupied Japan. He was also a member of the San Jose Shrine, San Jose Masonic Lodge, VFW of Pahrump, Nev., and the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #447.
Services for Mr. Bassett will be at 2 p.m. Friday June 24, 2011, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski with Rev. Steven Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski, where full military rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
