Twila Earline Hildebrandt
Twila E. Hildebrandt, 61, Bonduel, went home to be with her Lord Thursday,
June 5, 2008, at Pine Manor Health Center, Embarrass after a courageous battle
with cancer. Born Jan. 12, 1947, in Lewistown, Mont., she was the daughter of
Viola (Melz) Bassett and the late Earl Bassett. After graduating from Grass
Range High School in Montana in 1965, Twila went on to graduate from the
University of Montana at Bozeman. She then worked for seven years at Normal
University in Illinois before retiring and moving back to the home ranch in
Montana in 1977. On Aug. 5, 1978, she married Ray Hildebrandt in Winnet
Mont. After marriage the couple moved to their home in the Town of Lessor,
where they raised three children. Twila was a member of Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran
Church, Bonduel and was active with the Ladies Aid. She was also a past 4-H
Leader and a member of the Landstad Planning Commission. Twila will always be
remembered for her outgoing personality and her unconditional love of family
and friends. She had a passion for her flowers and loved finding a good deal
at any garage sale no matter how big or small.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; three children, Frista, Earl, Jesse, all
of Bonduel; her mother, Viola Bassett, Montana; three sisters, Vick (Eric)
Bassett-Olsen, Juneau, Alaska; Joy (Gene) Culver, Billings, Mont.; Darlene
(Jim) Ring, Blodgett, Ore; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Janet
Christ, Gresham; Wilford and Leila Little, Gresham; Carl Hildebrandt,
Underhill; Dorothy Seering, Minnesota; Lorraine Hildebrandt, Waupaca; Marion
Hildebrandt, Neenah; Helen Hildebrandt, Green Bay; Selma Buettner, Shawano;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Bassett; brothers-in-law,
Clifford Buettner, Roland Seering, Lawrence Hildebrandt, Elmer Hildebrandt,
and Clarence Hildebrandt.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran
Church, Bonduel with the Rev. Philip Geiger officiating. Burial in the Zion
Lutheran Cemetery. Embarrass. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg-
Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel Monday 4 to 8 p.m. and at church Tuesday 10 a.m.
until time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at ThedaCare and Pine Manor for their
help and support as well as to everyone who kept Twila in their prayers. She
will be sadly missed by her husband and her children.
