He was born on October 11, 1946, in Pewaukee, son of Harold and Betty (McCoy) Bass. He was a Waukesha County Deputy Sheriff for 15 years and was more recently employed at OSI in Brookfield until 2002. He is survived by one daughter, Lorrie (Doug) Hartman of Clyman; one granddaughter, Jordan Hartman; one grandson, Jacob Hartman, both of Clyman; his best friend, Phil VanKirk of Merton; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one granddaughter, Morganne Hartman and other relatives. In keeping with Jim's requests, friends and family may gather for a "Celebration of Life", Wednesday, October 26, 2005, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thunder Bay Grille in Pewaukee.
