Marilyn Bassett, five, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bassett of 52 Summer St. sustained a bruise on the leg at 8.25 this morning when struck by a car on Summer St. Police said that Mrs. Joseph Stewart of 143 Oakland St. reported she was driving south on Summer St. and in attempting to make a stop skidded and struck the child. She took the child home after the mishap.
