She was the widow of Armand Bessette. A daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Gaffney) Tully, she grew up in the Olneyville area and lived on Smith Hill until about 10 years ago. Mrs. Bessette leaves two sons, Arthur Bessette of Chula Vista and David Bessette of Imperial Beach; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Young of East San Diego and Mrs. Jean Kenney of Chula Vista; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Houlihan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
