Viola Cuccaro Rusco
Viola was born on November 22, 1919 and lived her entire life in the Visitacion Valley. She passed away on February 26, 2016. She was the daughter of Sam and Ann (Bassett) Cuccaro, sister of the late Lorraine (Joe) Ramirez, and a devoted wife to our Dad, the late Louis Rusca. She was a loving mother to her sons Paul (Raquel) and Denis (Marsha). She was adored by her grandchildren: Allyson Kirkman (John), Michael (Shannon), Patrick (Danielle) Jolene Rusca, and Robert Martinez. She also had 5 great grandchildren. Viola was devoted, caring and generous to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Viola graduated from Balboa High School in 1937. She worked for the Post Office during World War II, and worked for Brink's for over 20 years.
She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Visitacion Catholic Church and spent thousands of hours volunteering her services or raising money for the Church working on fashion shows, bazaars, boutiques, rummage sales and fund raisers throughout her life. Viola was proud to be a Native Daughter of the Golden West, and a lifetime member of the Mother's Club and Over 55 Club at Visitacion Church.
Friends may visit after 4:00pm Sunday (today) and are invited to attend the Vigil Service Sunday 4:30pm at the chapels of Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4840 Mission St., San Francisco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 7th at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Visitacion Catholic Church, 655 Sunnydale Avenue in San Francisco. Committal services to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of the Visitacion Mother's Club, 655 Sunnydale Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94134, in memory of Viola Cuccaro Rusca.
