Ankeny
Jeanne E. Ginger (Olson), 88, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was a resident of Ankeny for 52 years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church (510 E. First St., Ankeny, IA 50021). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church. Please join the family for a luncheon following the service at the church. Burial will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to a non-profit dementia organization of your choice.
Jeanne was born October 5, 1927, in Blue Earth, MN, to Pearlon and Erma (Bassett) Olson and raised in Fairmont, MN. She was married to Dwayne Ginger of Spencer, IA until his passing in 2003. Jeanne was a member of the Fairmont VFW #1222, attended Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church, and was in multiple productions put on by Act II.
Jeanne comes from a family of 5 children, having one surviving sibling, Bill Olson, from Apple Valley, MN. Jeanne is survived by her children: Walt Bayliff of Ankeny, Judy (Bayliff) Schmidt of Omaha, NE, Chris (Bayliff) Vanderpool of Ankeny, Annette (Bayliff) Gust of Northfield, MN, Bridget (Ginger) Smith of Alleman ,IA and Dan Ginger of Pleasantville, IA, she leaves her legacy to 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne, and one son, Frank Bayliff.
The family would like to thank Vintage Hills Homes for taking excellent care of Jeanne for the past two years and to SunCrest Hospice for their love and support for the past few weeks.
