Mr. Bassett was a retired senior staff specialist from McDonnell Couglas Corp., now Boeing Co. A funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at T.E. Pitman Funeral Home, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville. Burial was scheduled at Eternal Peace Cemetery, 1850 East Pitman Avenue, Wentzville. Among survivors are his wife, Wanda Pruett Bassett of Wentzville; three sons, Gary Bassett of Foristell, Dave Bassett of Wentzville and Steven Bassett of Fenton; a daughter, Susan Sitzie of New Melle; a brother, Dan Bassett of Covingont, Tenn.; and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to Fair Haven Children's Home in care of T.E. Pitman Funeral Home, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville, Mo. 63385.
