Mary Sophia Knowles Bass
Mary Sophia Knowles Bass, age 87, passed away November 27, 2002 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born July 13, 1915 in Chadron, Nebraska to Andrew Alvis Knowles and Rebecca Helena Knowles. She married Shannon Edwin Bass on May 22, 1952 in Las Vegas, NV.
They had no children but were very devoted to each other and remained sweethearts until his passing 3 years ago.
Mary had a master's degree in education and worked as head counselor at Bell High School in the Los Angeles School District for many years. She was loved by her students and co-workers. She retired in 1974.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, "Ed," three brothers Andrew, Alvis, and Arthur. She is survived by a sister, Linnaea Cook in Oceanside, California.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr.
