Private memorial services for Mr. Bassett will be held at a later date. Mr. Bassett was born November 26, 1927 in Geneva, GA the son of Roy O. Bassett, Sr. and Katie Jones Bassett. He was a retired Deputy Sheriff with Talbot County and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Callier Bassett. He is survived by his son Edmond Bassett of Columbus, GA and daughter Teresa( Danny) White of Muncie, IN; granddaughters: Kristi ( Kyle) Gueirn and Heidi White all of Muncie, IN and grandson: Jason Bassett of Buena Vista, GA.
