Donald C. Bassett
Donald C. Bassett, a Portland resident since 1943, died Tuesday in an area hospital at age 67. At his request, there will be no funeral.
Mr. Bassett was born in Everett, Wash. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Columbia River Yacht Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Navy League of Portland and Beaverton Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Dorothy A. Remington and Bettylu Watts, both of Hillsboro; three sisters, Francis Holmstad of Camano Island, Wash., Daphne Sears of Marysville, Wash., and Barbara Haynes of Bainbridge, Island, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the heart institute of St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center. Disposition was by cremation.
