H. Dillard Bass
H. Dillard Bass - April 10, 1934 - September 4, 2017
H. Dillard Bass was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Thomas Dillard Bass and Lula Burns. Dillard graduated from Thomas Jefferson High in Richmond, Virginia, and Duke University. Dillard attended United States Naval Reserve Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was assigned to the USS O'Bannon (DDE-450) stationed at Pearl Harbor. Dillard and Anita married on October 18, 1958 in Seattle after meeting in Hawaii where he was shipmates with her brother. After his final year of active service in Hawaii, Dillard and Anita moved to Bellevue. Dillard enjoyed working as an investment banker and building relationships with clients, retiring in 2006 due to health issues. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Bass Walker and briefly survived by his wife of nearly 59 years. He is survived by their two children, Thomas D. Bass of Port Orchard and Alice (Brad) Ambrose of Allendale, Michigan, as well as two nieces and two nephews. A joint service with Anita will be 1:00 pm Friday, December 22 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 5303 Kitsap Way in Bremerton. The family requests any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
