In Memoriam
Mrs. Anna Bassett Horton
Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Anna Bassett Horton, who passed away last Thursday, in the home where she had resided for more than a quarter of a century, at 4043 Walnut street.
Near relatives who attended the services were Charles L. Bassett, a brother, who came by plane from Newark, New Jersey, and Russell Bassett of Pomona, another brother. Mrs. Horton leaves two other brothers, James Bassett of Ontario, Canada, and Herbert Bassett of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; the former family home.
After leaving Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. Horton lived in Chicago for a time before locating in Riverside more than 30 years ago. The husband engaged in the citrus business until his death.
A daughter, Marjorie, who was married here to Dr. Roy N. White, now of Pasadena, passed away here about seven years ago.
Mrs. Horton was a member of Calvary Presbyterian church and a regular attendant until recent years when failing health kept her confined to her home. Reverend D.M. Macquarrie, pastor of Magnolia Avenue Presbyterian church, officiated at the service, which was in charge of M.H. Simons & Co.
