Miss Bessette Engaged to Wed Noel J. LaFarr
Mr. and Mrs. Victor C. Bessette of the Lake Road announce the engagement of their daughter, Irene Margaret, to Noel Joseph LaFarr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. LaFarr of the Highgate Road, Swanton.
Miss Bessette is a 1960 graduate of Holy Angels Commercial School and is employed at Homer W. Hungerford and Sons, Inc.
Mr. LaFarr attended Highgate High School. hE also is employed at Homer W. Hungerford and Sons, Inc.
An October wedding is planned.

Miss Irene M. Bessette United In Marriage to Noel J. LaFarr
Miss Irene Margaret Bessette, daughter of Mr.a nd Mrs. Victor C. Bessette of the Lake Road, became the bride of Noel Joseph LaFarr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. LaFarr of the Highgate Road, Swanton, on Saturday in Holy Angels Church.
The Rev. Roland Rivard performed the ceremony at 10 .am., using the double ring service. Mrs. Mabel Viens presided at the organ.
The bride was escorted by her father who gave her in marriage. Her floor length sheath of angel mist peau was finished at the waistline in back and front with small self leaves. The bodice featured a scoop neckline edged with pearls, and long sleeves en pointe. A crown of pearls held her veil of nylon illusion net. She carried carnations on a prayerbook.
Miss France Belanger was the bride?s only attendant. she wore a dark blue street length sheath with matching accessories and a corsage of blue and white mums.
Robert J. LaFarr Jr. served as best man.
The bride?s mother selected a blue and green flowered print jersey dress with corsage of white carnations. The mother of the bridegroom wore a light blue cotton dress with a similar corsage.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride?s parents. Assisting with the serving were Suzanne Pelkey, Ramona Deso and Mrs. Florence Lamos.
Linda Bailey presided at the punch bowl and Caror Benoit was in charge of the guest book.
Attending from out of town were guests from St. Johns and St. Lambert, Que., Hartland and Swanton.
Mr. and Mrs. LaFarr will reside on the Lake Road after they return from a honeymoon through the New England states. The bride?s traveling ensemble consisted of a light blue pleat4ed shift with white accessories and a corsage of carnations.
The bride graduated in 1960 from Holy Angels Commercial School and is employed by Homer W. Hungerford and Sons, Inc.
Mr. LaFarr attended Highgate Schools and is employed by Thermal Wire of America at South Hero.
