Alice V. Bessette
Alice V. Bessette, 86, of 39 Weeks St. died Saturday at Fogarty Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Clarence J. Bessette.
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late George and Delia (Caron) Langlois, she lived in North Smithfield most of her life.
Mrs. Bessette spent more than 1,000 hours as a volunteer in the children's ward at Zambarano Memorial Hospital, and in 1982 was nominated for Volunteer of the Year. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Woonsocket.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Doris A. Bergeron of Bellingham and Mrs. Charlotte M. Wigglesworth, with whom she made her home; a brother, Albert Langlois of Burrillville, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Kilcline Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Avenue, at 10. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, North Smithfield.
