He was born on Nov. 14, 1888, in Farnham, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Adelard and Delia (Bessetgte) LaPalme. Mr. LaPalme had been a resident of this city for 55 years. He worked as a machinist for the Boston and Albanyu Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1953. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Agawam. Mr. LaPalme is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie (Roy) LaPalme; two sons, Ivan A. and Roland E., both teachers in the Springfield Public School System, both teachers in the Springfield Public School System, both of West Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Paul F. Gabriel of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Dumas and Mrs. William St. Martin, both of West Springfield. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at Toomey funeral home with a high requiem Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours today are from 2 to 4 to 7 to 9 p.m.
