- MRS. KATE BASSETT DIES TUESDAY
A wire received by Guy WIltse dated March 20th, at 10:50 a.m. says:
Kate passed away 9:00 p.m. yesterday, funeral 3:00 p.m., March 21st. The Kate
referred to is Mrs. Kate Basett of San Benito, Texas, who has been in i
health for some months. Her husband passed away last summer.
1946-Fairmont relatives have word of the death March 18 of Mrs.
William Bassett at her home, San Benito, Texas. Mrs. Bassett was the former
Kate Personius, one of the early pioneers of Martin County. She long lived in
Fairmont but moved to Texas many years ago. Her age was about eighty. Mrs. Ina
Wiltse of Ceylon is a sister. She has been with Mrs. Bassett the past year.
Mr. Bassett is deceased and their only son is also dead.
