Warwick ? Robert A. Bassett
ROBERT A. BASSETT, 60, of Warwick Avenue died Friday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.
Born in Cranston, a son of the late George A. and Agnes A. (Dewey) Bassett, he had lived in Warwick since 1988. He previously lived in North Kingstown. Mr. Bassett owned the Bassett's Family Restaurant in Warwick from 1981 until retiring in 1987. He previously owned Bassett's Construction & Realty Co. in North Kingstown for 25 years until 1981. He was an independent truck driver for 10 years with Paul Arpin Van Lines. He was a former member of the Washington County Board of Realtors and the Seaview Country Club.
He leaves a son, Robert A. Bassett of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Laurie McGuire of Warwick; three brothers, George A. "Buddy" Bassett of Warwick, Ronald T. Bassett of East Providence and Dennis W. Bassett of Warren; two sisters, Carolyn V. Lackey of Warwick and Anne M. Latos of Providence; and four grandchildren. He leaves a companion, Christina (Kelley) Hewes.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
