H.J. Bessette Dies; 40 Years with D&H
Henry J. Bessette of Waterford, and employee of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad for more than 40 years, died yesterday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Bessette had worked in the maintenance department of the D&H?s Colonie yards. He was a member of St. Mary?s Churhc, Watgerford, its Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kiley Bessette; five brothers, the Rev. Harvey J. Bessette, pastor of St. Jean Baptiste Church, Troy; Charles J. Bessette, Albert J. Bessette and Ernest J. Bessette, all of Waterford; Artghur J. Bessette of Laek Charles La., and a sister, Maj. Anita Bessette of Washington.
Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Friday at Quandt Funeral Home, 23 Broad Street, Waterford, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary?s Chruch. Burial will be in St. Agnes? Cemetery, Menands.
