Doris M. Haggerty
Doris M. Haggerty, 92, formerly of Forty Fort and Dallas, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Hampton House, Hanover Township.
Born in Providence, R.I., on Aug. 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Hazel Bessette Pelletier.
She was a U.S Coast Guard veteran of World War II, serving from April 1944 to July 1945, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.
Doris was employed by First Eastern Bank, later P.N.C. Bank, until her retirement in 1975.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.
Doris enjoyed reading, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald C. Wilkins, her second husband, Thompson G. Haggerty, brother, Albert Pelletier Jr., nephew, Wayne Pelletier.
Surviving are her sons, Donald Wilkins & his wife Nancy, John "Jack" Wilkins and his wife Carol, William Wilkins and his wife Diane, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
Family & friends may call on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
