Charles A. Bass
Charles A. "Bud" Bass, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away December 25, 2012. Bud grew up in the neighborhood of Brightwood, attending Arsenal Tech High School. Upon graduation, Bud joined the U.S. Army, retiring from the Army after 25 honorable years of service. During his years of service he received several decorations, medals, and campaign ribbons including the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Bud began his life with his second family, the VFW, at the age of four, attending events with his parents. He was a life member of the VFW Post#7119, the MOCA, AMVETS and AASR National Masonic Jurisdiction.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St.
Bud is survived by his wife of 38 years, Connie Bass; daughters, Dawn (Sam) Armitage, Cherylene (Sean) Fitzgerald and Kathern (Steve) Brown; son, Charles W. (Carolyn) Bass; four wonderful grandchildren, Rachel, Noah, Nicole and Piper; sister, Sandra White; and brothers, Richard (Mary) and Dennis (Gail) Hignite. A grandson, Ryan Bass; and his parents, Charles R. and Grace Bass preceded him in death.
