Daniel M. Lockwood ? 1957-2014
Daniel M. Lockwood Video technician for the Union County Police Academy, referee and sports official, 57 Daniel M. Lockwood, 57, of Hillside, N.J., passed peacefully on Dec. 7, 2014, in Norfolk, Mass., surrounded by his family. Visitation is on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St. Wrentham, Mass. The funeral is Friday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude's Church, 86 Main St., Norfolk, Mass. Burial is in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleboro, Mass. Born in Central Falls, R.I., on June 30, 1957, Daniel was a son of the late Phillip J. Jr. and Claire Y. (Bessette) Lockwood. He was educated in Seekonk schools in Massachusetts. Daniel was a graduate of Hillside High School, Brookdale Community College, and the DeVry Institute. He worked as a video technician for the Union County Police Academy for many years. Daniel was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, N.J. Devils, and St. Louis Rams. He was an active member of the N.J. Devils fan club. Daniel was also a member of the Springfield-Hillside Elks Lodge, the Hillside Knights of Columbus Lodge, and Union County Master Gardeners, Class of 2010. Daniel was an active referee and official in several sports. He is survived by his siblings, Dennis Lockwood and his wife, Lorraine, of New Jersey; Denise Lockwood of Florida; Doreen Bailey and her husband, Robert, of Attleboro, Mass.; David Lockwood of California; Diane Miller and her husband, Roy, of Norfolk, Mass, and Douglas Lockwood of Utah; 13 nieces and nephews, two great-nieces, and a multitude of friends from many organizations. Donations in his memory may be made to the youth sports organization of your choice.
