Wartrace
Bass, Miss Mary Victoria--73, of Wartrace. Died Friday at her home following a short illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Howell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, The Rev. Willis Pope will officiate.
Her parents were the late Sion D. Bass and Alice Simmons Bass. Miss Bass was a native of Bedford County, Member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Fairfield, Member of the Shelbyville Chapter D.A.R., Colonial Dames of XVII Century, The Daughters of 1812, The Huguenot Society of Tenn., and the Jamestown Society. Professionally, she was a member of the Tenn. Society of C.P.A.s
Surviving five sisters, Mrs. Gust (Ruth) Johnson of Shelbyville, Mrs. Harvey (Ione) Chapman of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Robert (Opal) Lynch, Brownsville, Tx., Mrs. Guy Tucker (Camille) Henderson, Ripley, Tn., Dr. Anne Avery, Knoxville, Tn.; three brothers, Sion Bass of Marietta, Ga., Harold Bass, Shelbyville, Robert Bass, Humboldt; thirteen nephews, eleven nieces; eight great nephews and ten great nieces.
