Rudolph Bessette
Taunton: On August 18, 2014, Rudolph "Al" Alphonse Leo Bessette passed away peacefully after a long illness. He was born in Fairhaven, Massachusetts on August 31, 1926 to Alphonse Honore Bessette and Johanna Ford Bessette.
He leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley Stetson Bessette and his children, Suzanne Bessette and Elliot Lengel, Robert and June Bessette, Richard and Debbie Bessette and Ronald and Malinda Bessette.
His daughter, Sheryl Bessette, predeceased him.
He was affectionately known as PawPaw to his grandchildren Briana Rivera, Lisa Moschillo, Janelle Wynder, Scott Bessette, Jennifer Bessette, Katlyn Bessette, Stefanie Bessette, Laurie Marcel, Douglas Bessette, Jeffrey Bessette, Christopher Bessette.
His great grandchildren Amber Wallace, Rainy Boudreaux, Kurt Boudreaux III, Ariana Bessette, Emily Marcel, David LeBoeuf, Zachary Rivera, Ashton Bessette, Timothy Marcel, Celeste Rivera, Ava Bessette, Damien Dupre and Taylor Wynder will miss him.
Al Bessette served his country in the United States Navy for twenty-two years. He served in combat during World War II. After retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief, Al began a career with Texas Instrument in Attleboro, Massachusetts where he worked for twentyseven years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave, (route 138 South) Taunton on Friday at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 AM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5-8 PM.
