      BASSETT ? LE PAGE

Dressed in a lustrous ivory satin gown, Winifred Mavis, youngest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. C. Le Page, ?Hawkstowe,? South Morang, made a charming picture as she walked down the aisle at the South Morgan Methodist Church which was suitably decorated on Saturday afternoon, November 30 for her marriage to Mr. William Aubrey Bassett.
The bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Bassett, of Merda.
The bride, who was given away by her father, had her gown fashioned on long slim lines, with cowl neckline and sleeves and skirt lengthened beautiful well surmounted by a tulle cap lent by Mrs. A. Gray, her aunt, which was caught closely to the head with trails of orange blossom. Completing the tollet was a sheaf of water lilies on a background of white gladioli.
Miss Rita Le Page (bridge?s sister) and Miss Jean Bassett (groom?s sisters) acted as attendants. The first maid wore pink floral chiffon and the second chose lemon tonings. They were both cut on the same lines with shirring at the top of the raglan sleeves and fitting close into the wrist: a cowl neckline, and waterfall frills draped gracefully on the skirt. A pleasing finish was a vivid contrasting taffeta sash which ted at the back. Each wore a hat to match the sashes of their frocks, and each carried an exquisite sheaf bouquet of pink gladioli.
The hostess ? Mrs. A. Gray (aunt of the bride) wore a black floral georgette frock, her bouquet composed of pink gladioli and roses. Mrs. E. Bassett (mother of the groom) wore a crepe de chene frock, with a navy coat and hat to match and her bouquet comprised pansies, roses, and water lilies. Mrs. C. Le Page was dressed in a navy ensemble and in her bouquet were arranged pink carnations and roses.
Mr. Eric Bassett (Merda) was the best man and Mr. George Sawyer the groomsman.
After the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. F. Aswell Apted, Mr. C. Le Page entertained about 65 guests at his home, ?Hawkstowe,? where they were received by the bride and groom.
